Where Do Bed Bugs Hide On Your Body?

Bed bugs are those pests that no one likes yet we all have to deal with them one way or the other. They love to feed on our blood, bite us and leave some itchy rashes behind as they run off. It’s no pleasure to have bed bugs in any way, and unfortunately there’s no real control over bed bugs especially if you don’t clean up your home and fully remove them.

Can you actually find bed bugs on your body?

Recently numerous reports suggest that you can actually find bed bugs on your body. Obviously most of us take this type of report with a grain of salt, as it seems highly unlikely. But let’s analyze it to see if it’s true. Most of the time bed bugs will hide during the day, they will go into crevices and cracks, be it on your mattress, bed frame, springs, headboards and so on.

These bed bugs tend to multiply fast so they can easily spread to most of your home. However, in order to answer our question, it’s important to note that the bed bugs don’t like things that are moving. That’s why they are found on the headboard, bed frame and so on. These are static places that don’t move at all.

You will not find bed bugs on a human being. They prefer a safe and cool environment. The human body is very hot and obviously that’s not the type of place that the bed bugs will prefer. Some bed bugs will like the human body as a place to feed during the night, but they are not sticking around after feeding. They move back to safety in those crevices where they came from. That’s where they are digesting. And it’s also important to note that it will take a little bit of time before they will come back to feed again.

Will you have bed bugs in your hair?

The short answer is no, but you will notice at times that there are some rogue bed bugs here and there, and some can be in your brush. Those can bite you on the cheeks, forehead, scalp and so on. There were some situations when women were brushing and some bed bugs ended up biting them. But those things are rare and you won’t really see something like this happen. If anything it’s important to note that challenges like these can and will arise all the time and you have to make sure that you double check your neck and hair too.

If you have itchy, red welts along the hairline then that means bed bugs were on your body at least for a little while. However, the bed bugs are mostly passing by and they won’t reside on your hair most of the time. If anything, when you encounter any bites those can be from insects. So it’s important to understand bed bug bites and how they differentiate from other insect bites.

Can you actually live with bed bugs on your body?

That’s highly unlikely. Most bed bugs want a place that’s cool and the human body is warm to hot most of the time. That being said, you can still have bed bugs on your clothes and that’s a thing to know about all the time. It’s not a very simple thing to think about however, unless you travel a lot. If you travel sometimes bed bugs will be in your suitcase and they can also crawl in your pants or clothes. And that’s when you can have bed bugs on your body.

It’s not something that you can control, when you are at home things are a bit different, in this case the control is very hard to achieve and you really have to know what you are getting into and what you can expect.

Inspecting the location where you are right now is crucial as you might be able to figure out if there are bed bugs or not. Corners and small folds is where bed bugs tend to be, so inspecting those is a priority. You should also try to double check your clothes and re-fold them to make sure that there are no signs of bed bugs.

As you can imagine, dealing with bed bugs is not ok at all, if anything it’s extremely bad and very problematic. But whether we like it or not, they can appear on our body and more specifically in our clothes. Thankfully bed bugs will not live on your body. Yet they will hide either in your clothes or in your hair.

Those are the preferred locations, but bed bugs are known to adapt from time to time. So you will find them in a variety of different places, which is why you have to tackle them the right way and remove them or kill them as fast as possible!
